fullscreen\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>01.&nbsp;&nbsp;Begin by double-clicking the blue Medisoft icon on your desktop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>02.\u00a0\u00a0To create a new practice data set in Medisoft, click FILE then NEW PRATICE in the main menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By default, the last practice opened will open automatically when you start Medisoft.&nbsp;&nbsp;If you have multiple practices you can switch between them by clicking OPEN PRACTICE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalsoftware.com\/Medisoft-Blog\/images\/Image_001-1.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>03.&nbsp;&nbsp;In the first field enter the practice name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>04.\u00a0\u00a0In the second field enter a short name that easily identifies the practice being created.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalsoftware.com\/Medisoft-Blog\/images\/Image_002-1.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>05.\u00a0\u00a0When ready click CREATE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>06.\u00a0\u00a0The program will ask you to confirm by clicking YES.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>07.\u00a0\u00a0Next a blank PRACTICE INFORMATION window will appear (<em>Skip to step 02 in the next section<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br>PRACTICE INFORMATION:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>01.\u00a0\u00a0From the main menu, click FILE, then PRACTICE INFORMATION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>02.\u00a0\u00a0Enter the PRATICE NAME, STREET, CITY, STATE, and ZIP-CODE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>03.\u00a0\u00a0Note; for 5010 the full 9-digit zip-code is required.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>04.\u00a0\u00a0Enter the PHONE and FEDERAL TAX ID.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>05.\u00a0\u00a0Select; INDIVIDUAL or GROUP, PERSON or NON-PERSON, and a TYPE (<em>see 06, 07, and 08 below<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalsoftware.com\/Medisoft-Blog\/images\/Image_003-1.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>06.\u00a0\u00a0GROUP practices have both individual provider NPI(s), and a group practice NPI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>07.\u00a0\u00a0PERSON practices are typically single-provider practices that use the provider\u2019s name as the practice name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>08.\u00a0\u00a0TYPE allows for the following practice type choices:\u00a0\u00a0ANESTHESIA, CHIROPRACTIC, and MEDICAL.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>09.\u00a0\u00a0Much of the above entered information will appear in Box 33 of a paper claim form.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>10.\u00a0\u00a0Next click on the PRACTICE IDs tab (<em>and skip to step 03 in the next section<\/em>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><br>PRACTICE IDs:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>01.\u00a0\u00a0To edit IDs which will appear in Box 25, 33a, and 33b, in the main menu select FILE then PRACTICE INFORMATION.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>02.\u00a0\u00a0Next select the PRACTICE IDs tab.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>03.\u00a0\u00a0This tab is where IDs such as NPI, TAX ID, TAXONOMY CODE, LEGACY IDs, for the practice are entered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>04.\u00a0\u00a0This grid allows you to setup different rules on how the program populates ID fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalsoftware.com\/Medisoft-Blog\/images\/Image_004-1.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>05.\u00a0\u00a0To start you will need to create at least one entry, by clicking NEW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>06.\u00a0\u00a0In the first new entry you should enter at least the NATIONAL PROVIDER ID and TAX IDENTIFIER or SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER.\u00a0\u00a0If you know the TAXONOMY code you may enter that as well.\u00a0\u00a0By leaving all other options blank, it tells the program to use those IDs for all claims, unless another over-riding entry is made in the grid.\u00a0\u00a0When finished click OK, then SAVE.\u00a0\u00a0It should look something like the first line of the example on the previous page.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.2kmedicalsoftware.com\/Medisoft-Blog\/images\/Image_005-1.jpg?ssl=1\" alt=\"\" data-recalc-dims=\"1\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>07.\u00a0\u00a0If a particular insurance carrier wants different IDs than what was setup in the first entry, you can add another entry making sure to select that INSURANCE CARRIER.\u00a0\u00a0Any specific entries where a Provider, Provider Class, Insurance, Insurance Class, or Facility are selected will over-ride the \u201call, all, all\u201d entry.\u00a0\u00a0An example of this can be seen on the previous image.\u00a0\u00a0In that example, the second line will take precedence over the first line when the insurance claim being printed or sent electronically is MCR.\u00a0\u00a0Note, you may have to come back to this section if the insurance carriers have not yet been added to Medisoft.\u00a0\u00a0Also note, the LEGACY IDENTIFIER 1 field populates Box 33b.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>08.\u00a0\u00a0Click OK to Save.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>01.&nbsp;&nbsp;Begin by double-clicking the blue Medisoft icon on your desktop. 02.\u00a0\u00a0To create a new practice data set in Medisoft, click FILE then NEW PRATICE in the main menu.
